KAUMARA MUTT TEMPLES |
This Mutt maintains a large and well built temple complex. There are temples for
all six paths of Hindu theology, i.e. a Temple for Ganesh; Temple for Lord
Muruga, which is the biggest, Temple for Lord Siva and the last one for Lord
Vishnu, worshipped here in the form of Lord Panduranga.
Lord Dhandapani (Muruga) Temple was installed by Thavathiru Ramanantha Adigalar himself, later Thavathiru Sundara Swamigal re-built the same. Muruga Temple was constructed with large 51 Granite stones, symbolizing Lord Murugas Six faces.
Lord
Avinashilingeshwara (Siva) Temple and Sri Karunambigai Amman Temple were in a depilated condition in a
village in Erode District,
There is also a Temple for Lord Surya- the Sun god, on the first day of Tamil New year special poojas are arranged.
All devotees can enter into the Sanctum Sanctorum itself and worship the Deity.
Thus a devotee can worship all the Shanmatha Temples under one-roof, which is unique feature in this Mutt.
A
well carved Ratha made of wood and another one made in silver are here. During
Thai Poosam festival, these Rathas are drawn.

following are the Festivals celebrated in this temple:
Krithigai
Pooja
This
Pooja is performed on every Kiruthigai star of every Tamil month at 10.30 AM.
Many devotees visit and worship Lord Kumaragurubarar (Muruga) daily. Thavathiru
Kumaragurubara Swamigal himself will be performing Poojas in this day.
Prathosam
Prathosam
is an important festival celebrated twice in a Tamil month is celebrated here
for Lord Avinashilingeshwara (Siva) and large number of devotees attend this
Pooja regularly.
Thaipoosam
This
is an important main festival in this Temple lasting for seven days. Thai Poosam
falls in January month. Temple cars will be drawn during such time and devotees
attend in large numbers. Theppam (Floating) festival is another important
festival, during which the Deity is drawn in a decorated Float in the Temple
Tank. Ladies will perform Deepa (Light) Pooja. Pancha Murthi Urchavam will also
be celebrated.
Kandar
Sasti Festival
This
is also done in a large scale in this temple. Lord Muruga will win the Asura and
kill that demon. This will be dramatized and many devotees will be watching.
Laksha-Archanai, Yaha and special Poojas will be conducted.
